Negative carbon footprint for the company CCB Greentech, based in Beaurepaire (Isère), which has just developed the first totally ecological “wood concrete”.
This TimberRoc comprising 90% wood, cement and an additive with a secret composition would indeed produce no carbon, indicates France 3 Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.
It is also produced with wood from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
“This is the mechanism of photosynthesis: a healthy tree will capture carbon dioxide during its growth,” explained Laurent Noca, co-founder of CCB Greentech.
We trap this carbon in wood concrete over a long period of time, which allows us to have this negative carbon footprint.

Three times lighter than conventional concrete
In addition to having undeniable ecological qualities, TimberRoc would be three times lighter than conventional concrete thanks to the characteristics of the wood.
Thus, the panels are easily modular and constitute an excellent insulator.
“All this know-how that we have accumulated over the past fifteen years has now been licensed to industrialists.
They will now be able to manufacture this wood concrete, use it and market it for various sites, ”said Laurent Noca.
The innovation represented by TimberRoc won over the Lafarge group, specializing in construction materials, which invested in the capital of CCB Greentech.
