Frequent urination at night may be a sign of a serious illness

Medical experts have warned men that getting up at night to urinate could be a sign of severe cancer, and if it happened suddenly, it could be a sign of prostate cancer.

And the British newspaper, “Mirror”, quoted medical experts as saying that studies showed that frequent urination during the night was found in 25% of cases of prostate cancer as a side effect.

According to the NHS, prostate cancer can be difficult to detect early due to the lack of obvious symptoms, and explains that if you are 50 years old or older, or your father or brother has the disease, or you are dark-skinned, you should talk to your doctor general.

The paper explains that there is compelling evidence that diet is a strong determinant of cancer, as a vegetarian diet may reduce the risk of developing the disease and slow its spread, and researchers said that those who eat more fruits, vegetables, legumes and fish are less likely to develop cancer.

These foods contain natural plant compounds, known as carotenoids, that can protect the body from DNA damage, and studies have found that red-colored fruits are particularly suitable for protecting the body from cancer, due to their lycopene content.

Eating canned tomatoes reduced the risk of prostate cancer by 28 percent in a study published in 2020 in the Journal of Cancer Causes & Control.

Prostate cancer is the second most common disease in men after skin cancer, and the disease is often described as "aggressive" for its ability to spread rapidly to nearby lymph nodes and organs if left untreated.

"The same dietary habits that can reduce the risk of prostate cancer could have a similar effect, possibly to slowing its spread," said Dr. Bradley MacGregor, an oncologist at Harvard-affiliated Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
