Those were just fanciful ideas and became realistic thanks to a new technology called “the perianal mesh” and based on a quality of synthetic fibers created by a team of engineers at the University of California, Irvine, USA.


In a study reported in the scientific journal Nature Electronics, the study team at the College of Engineering at the University of California explained that the new fibers are flexible and can be installed inside the fabric of clothing, so that they create a wireless network without the need for batteries in order to digitally communicate with nearby electronic devices.


And the technology website Phys.org quoted researcher Peter Tsang, who specializes in electrical engineering and computer science, as saying: “Similar to what happens when you put your mobile phone on an e-reader to pay for your purchases, the new fiber technology works with the same idea, but we We succeeded in extending the reach of the network significantly.”


He explained, "You can keep your phone in your pocket, and pass the jacket next to another piece of clothing, or an electronic reader, and in this case, the data will be exchanged between the two pieces."


Amir Hossein Haji Aghajani, head of the study team, confirms that the new innovation allows wearers of clothes equipped with the new fibers to digitally communicate with nearby electronic devices, making one-touch payments or moving the sleeves of a jacket, for example.


He added that the materials used in the manufacture of these fibers are cheap, easy to manufacture, and can be easily shaped, and therefore can be produced in different shapes and lengths, and can also be installed inside the user's traditional clothes without the need to purchase special clothes for this purpose.
