At the microphone of Isabelle Morizet in the show "There is not only one life in life" on Saturday, the singer looks back on his personal and professional career.

And in particular his passion for the Ironman, extreme triathlons, in which he embarked on one of these tours, thanks to his drummer.

3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180.2 kilometers of cycling and a marathon.

This is the program, to say the least intense, of the Ironman these extreme triathlons.

A discipline which counts among its followers the singer Amir.

It was during one of his tours that the artist got involved in this extreme sport.

He explains on Saturday on Europe 1 how this passion was born and the next Ironman he will run, in Isabelle Morizet's show There is not only one life in life.

"The best way to make me do something is to tell me that I can't do it," smiles the singer.

The ironman, a "madness"

“And that's because it seemed totally infeasible when we saw our drummer on tour preparing for months to do Ironman,” continues Amir on Europe 1. “He fell into this virus of love for triathlon. But he was always a sportsman. And the rest of us, the guitarist, the keyboard player, the bass player and I, looked at him and thought he was completely crazy. While we were resting on the tour bus, he was going for a swim. in municipal swimming pools and running in the fields. "

One evening, however, the drummer offered to train Amir for this extreme competition.

"Don't worry, I'll take you under my wing. In addition, we have time, we still have a hundred tour dates ahead of us," he reminds him.

And Amir accepts.

"From the moment I committed to something, the next day I was already at Decathlon buying the equipment for", explains the singer.

"And that's how this madness started."

The training is then carried out simultaneously with the concert tour.

A consistent double schedule, according to the singer.

"When you arrive in a city with the tourbus in the morning, if you don't want to sleep in, you have a few hours to burn," he says.

"And it's great to play sports, it doesn't tire. It allows us to be even more dynamic in the evening for the concert."

"My result is not brilliant"

Especially since Amir's drummer trains him gradually.

"We start with very little. And little by little, we add kilometers, we add minutes of swimming", specifies the singer.

"And that resulted in my first Ironman last September."

A race that Amir finished after 7:35 am, "exhausted" and "in tears".

"It's not bright," he smiles.

"My drummer did that 4:45. There is still a big delta. But I did it because I wanted to prove to myself that I was capable of it, me who never ran more than two terminals, me who had never swam. And afterwards, I got a taste for it and repeated the test. "

A first Ironman which did not come out unscathed.

“I fell on the bike along the way. I have had a big scar on my shoulder since,” he says.

"It is, as my coach says, the job that fits."

An experience far from having disgusted the artist.

"I am preparing for the Ironman in Aix en Provence in May," he warns.

"I hope to achieve it. I'm very, very motivated anyway."
