Since the outbreak of the civil war in Syria, Souleyman has lived in the Turkish province of Sanliurfa, where he has run a bakery in parallel with his artistic career.
On Wednesday, he was picked up by police after alleged links to the Kurdish PKK.
After a day at the police station, Soleyman was taken to a camp for people who are to be deported from Turkey, the defense lawyer states.
But on Friday morning, he was released again.
Omar Souleyman has worked with Björk and Diplo, among others, and played in Sweden several times, including at Way Out West 2013.
