News 1+1丨How is the progress of the multi-party search and rescue process in Ailaoshan where the geological survey personnel lost contact?

In the past two days, a search and rescue operation was underway in Ailao Mountain in Zhenyuan County, Yunnan, because on the 13th, four geological investigators entered Ailao Mountain and lost contact on the 14th. They have not been found yet. How is the search and rescue situation these days?

Why did the four geological investigators with certain professional ability still lose contact?

1 Search and rescue forces have invested more than 1,370 people

Luo Dong, reporter of Rong Media Center, Zhenyuan County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province: Up to now, the entire rescue force has invested more than 1,370 people, including emergency, public security, fire rescue, forest fire fighting and other forces, as well as drones, helicopters, and search and rescue dogs. Professional equipment.

There are also some local people among these people. Because of the complex terrain of Ailao Mountain, local people may know the situation better. In addition, the construction of supply points also depends on the people.

4 Set up supply points to exclude suspicious areas item by item

Wang Hongdong, director of the Zhenyuan Management and Protection Bureau of Yunnan Ailaoshan National Nature Reserve: The search and rescue team will determine the focus of the search and rescue the next day based on the traces found during the search and rescue the night before, and exclude suspicious areas one by one.

① Checked the field management and protection site originally established by the Ailaoshan Management and Protection Bureau.

Because the missing persons encounter difficulties, holding the map, they should first go to the management and protection point to evacuate. They may think that the management and protection point is a permanent building and a place where they can evacuate, but this management and protection point is only for patrolling. The staff can take a temporary rest and simply build it with a few pieces of wood and tarpaulin.

We ruled out this point through on-site inspections.

② Some villagers discovered that there was a temporary fire in the reserve, and we quickly went to the surrounding area to confirm it. We finally determined that there were no signs of human activity nearby, so we ruled out this spot.

In order to improve search efficiency, we have also set up supply points in the reserve.

5 Constantly adjust the plan for search and rescue one case a day

Wang Hongdong, Director of the Zhenyuan Management and Protection Bureau of Yunnan Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve: We all discussed the search and rescue plan for the next day the night before, and then came back at night to reanalyze the plan for the day and clarify what to do next day. Constantly adjust the plan, and arrange the deployment according to a plan a day.

6 Initially believe that the factor of loss of connection is a misjudgment of position

Wang Hongdong, Director of the Zhenyuan Management and Protection Bureau of Yunnan Ailaoshan National Nature Reserve: The oldest of the four missing persons is 32 years old and the youngest is 25 years old. They have all served as soldiers.

After several days of searching, we have successively found some signs of the activities of the missing persons. The preliminary judgments are as follows:

  ①Affected by the severe weather, continuous rainfall from the 14th to the 16th, the temperature dropped, and the heavy fog was filled, the visibility was very low, which may cause the missing personnel to judge the position of the missing person;

②This area belongs to the most complex terrain and topography of Ailao Mountain. The slopes of the mountain walls are large and there are many cliffs. Even the patrol personnel may lose their way for a short time in places where they usually walk less. It is difficult to get out if you are disoriented, and the complicated terrain may also lead to inadequate injuries to the lost contact.

7 There will be no problems with food and water in the reserve in the short term

Wang Hongdong, Director of Zhenyuan Management and Protection Bureau of Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve in Yunnan: In the current season, the Ailao Mountain Reserve is the most abundant in plants, and at the same time there are more streams, abundant water sources, and 4 geological investigators who have lost contact As a person with long-term field work experience, there should be no problem in ensuring food and water sources.
