3.6 billion people because they do not have adequate facilities.
It is with this affirmation that the United Nations have chosen to launch the World Toilet Day campaign for the 2021 edition. Beyond the health problems caused by the lack of decent facilities, it is also the environmental and economic impact that must be taken into account.
Sanitation systems and sanitation facilities, however, suffer from underinvestment and poor management.
