Shock in Saudi Arabia from the prices of Chef Nusrat's restaurant .. "Golden Steak" meal for 6 sheep

After the famous Turkish chef Nusrat, known as "Rashet Al Salt", opened a restaurant in the city of Riyadh, the pioneers of social networking sites circulated a list of its prices amid harsh criticism.

The tweets considered the prices of meals in the restaurant "exorbitant", as some meals were estimated at thousands of riyals, and tweets said that the prices did not suit many groups of Saudi society.

According to what was circulated, the price of a gold steak (wrapped with 24-karat gold leaf) ranges between 2400-4300 Saudi riyals ($640 - $1,146), which is equal to more than the price of 6 postal sheep.

The price of a golden lamb thigh amounted to 2500 riyals ($666), and Nusrat Golden Steak (400 grams) amounted to 1250 riyals (about $333).

Tweeters demanded from the Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Protection in the Kingdom to intervene to put an end to such exaggerated prices, and so that other restaurants do not follow the same method as the Turkish Chef Restaurant.

For comparison, the average price of a kilogram of municipal veal in the capital, Riyadh, is about 33.95 riyals (about $ 9).

Others called for a boycott of the restaurant, and pointed out that the restaurant had received a very negative advocate.

While one of the tweeters pointed out that the price of one steak meal is equivalent to the price of a sheep, in an indication of the insane rise in prices.

And one of the tweeters said: "Nusrat restaurant was opened in Riyadh. The place is large and spacious, specialized in meat... Prices are high and I try what I repeat."
