The Beijing site is the seat of the capital of the Western Zhou Dynasty.

At the Gaojing site in Fengdong New City, Xi’an, Shaanxi, archaeologists discovered important relics such as foundation sites, roads, and pottery drainage pipes of large-scale buildings in the Western Zhou Dynasty after two years of excavation. The construction technology and the layout of the capital are of great significance.
