Painful video of a female elephant trying to wake up her dead cub

In this heart-wrenching video, a mother elephant tries to revive her dead three-year-old calf and the emotional clip will leave you in tears.

In a heartbreaking video clip shared on social media, the mother of a baby elephant tries to revive her dead three-year-old son.

The accident occurred in Palakkad district of Kerala state, India, where a baby elephant was seen lying on the ground after being electrocuted.

In a desperate attempt to revive him, the mother elephant can be seen using her trunk to poke her calf and prod him in order to help him get up.

Elephants are exceptionally intelligent animals, capable of experiencing and understanding a wide range of emotions.

Not only that, they also understand death and suffering, in the same way that humans do, and the spread of the video is proof of that.

"There was a direct wire attached to a wall, and it seemed to be touched by the elephant," said Korra Srinivas, a forestry official in the area.

Meanwhile, the video went viral and netizens were saddened to see a female elephant in such ordeal.

Others expressed their outrage that the authorities installed electrified barbed wire, which often caused such tragedies.
