The biography is based on Tim Berling's own notes, conversations with friends and more than 40,000 emails that Avicii has sent and received since 2010. Based on this, the author Måns Mosesson gives an insight into the artist's life - from the first stacking steps as a DJ, to his career as world-renowned artist.

- The book will be unique in that we actually get to meet Tim, how he has experienced these incredibly hectic years in his career.

It would not have been possible without access to this material, says Måns Mosesson.

“Got to go to his own gut feeling”

Tim Berling's family and friends have been involved in the process, giving Mosesson extensive access to the artist's personal material.

How do you see that Tim Bergling can not take a position on what should come out and what not?

- I have thought about that a lot.

It is incredibly sealed, and very much not used.

But you have to go to your own gut feeling and try to feel so that there is a bottom of warmth and respect.

Also present in the book is the mental illness and drug addiction that Tim struggled with.

- This is not the story of just one person's journey but a story that reflects our time in many ways.

There are so many in my and Tim's generation who feel bad and drug addiction is increasing in Sweden as well.

The winnings to the Tim Bergling Foundation

Avicii currently has almost 28 million unique listeners every month on Spotify and the interest in the book is expected to be great.

The income for the book, on the other hand, does not go to the author himself in the first place, but to the work with mental illness and suicide prevention that Avicii's parents run in the son's name.

- The majority of the profits will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation, says Måns Mosesson.

Tim Bergling passed away on April 20, 2018 in Oman, he turned 28 years old.
