According to relevant departments, China and the United States reached three consensuses on media issues before the 16-yen first video meeting in November.

The first is that the two sides ensure that current resident reporters can travel to and from each other's country normally under the premise of abiding by the epidemic prevention regulations.

Second, the US promised to issue one-year multiple-entry visas to Chinese journalists and will immediately initiate domestic procedures to resolve the issue of visa stays for Chinese journalists.

China will, based on the principle of reciprocity, grant U.S. media reporters in China the same visa and duration of stay treatment after U.S. policy measures are in place.

The third is that both parties will reciprocally review and approve visas for new resident journalists in accordance with laws and regulations.

For a long time, Chinese journalists stationed in the United States only hold a valid entry visa, which is very inconvenient. Some reporters have difficulty returning to work in the United States even after returning to China for meetings or visiting relatives.

This time, the two sides have had more than a year of arduous consultations on the treatment of each other’s media in each other’s country. There is struggle and cooperation. It can be said that "no fight and no acquaintance". It is very difficult to reach the current three-point consensus. This is both for journalists on both sides. The good news also reflects the new normal of equality and head-up view between China and the United States from one side.
