• LOU Rugby and Olympia Productions have teamed up to create the Inversion Fest, where big names in urban music will perform in Gerland.

  • The organizers wanted a varied program to attract several generations to the same stadium.

  • This new festival marks another halt for OL's Felyn Stadium Festival, which has never been able to take place at Groupama Stadium because of Covid-19.

Rediscover the stadium, the stage, vibrate in the heart of a crowd of 30,000 people: this was missed by artists and the public.

After the forced shutdown due to the health crisis, matches and concerts are gradually resuming, while others wanted to mark the occasion.

By creating a new festival, for example ... And it is facing the synthetic lawn of Gerland that LOU Rugby and Olympia Productions have announced the first edition of Inversion Fest, an urban music festival which will take place on the 17th and 18th. next June at the Matmut Stadium in Lyon.

A beautiful international poster

Inversion Fest is the ideal meeting point between LOU Rugby, which wanted its legendary enclosure "to be more than a stadium, a place of life", according to its director Yann Roubert, and Olympia Production, of which the general manager Christophe Sabot held to "create something new, with a resonance that is not only regional, on a modern, current musical aesthetic".

In fact, the event is intended to be global with solid headliners, the Black Eyed Peas and Stromae, who will be back on stage after four years of absence.

They will share the two stages of the stadium with PNL, Orelsan, James BKS (son of Manu Dibango), Sch, Ckay and Oboy.

The rest of the poster, including female artists, will be unveiled before December 15, the organizers promise.

Seats, from 35 to 99 euros depending on the category, will go on sale on Friday.

The Felyn remains on stand-by for 2022

The choice of Gerland is essential for its maximum capacity of 35,000 seats, but also for the spirit of the stadium: “LOU Rugby is a team, but it is also quite a crossroads of exchanges, of sharing of 'emotions,' says Yann Roubert. The program was designed to bring together several generations: "Ckay and Oboy will attract a young audience, while Stromae and the Black Eyed Peas can attract parents who will bring their teenagers", explains Christophe Sabot. “The Matmut Stadium will precisely accommodate a category of people on the lawn, and another who can sit in the comfort and safety of a stadium. "

The birth of Inversion Fest also marks the sidelining of the Felyn Stadium Festival, envisaged by OL and Olympia in 2019 at Groupama Stadium, but canceled two years in a row due to Covid-19.

The 2021 edition of Felyn was also headlining… the Black Eyed Peas.
