An incident took place on Saturday in the small town of Saint-Sauveur in the Oise.

A deer tracked down by the participants of a hunt with hounds found itself stuck in the fence of a stadium where a football match was to take place.

The families present on the spot tried to repel the dogs and the hunters to allow the animal to escape, reports France 3 Hauts-de-France.

The scene was filmed by people present on site and relayed on social networks by the anti-hunting association AVA Compiègne.

According to the testimony of the parents of the young footballers and of the Saint-Sauveur coach, the dogs and the “followers” of the hunt would have entered the enclosure of the stadium.

"We had to wait for the hunters to move away to start the match", assures the coach.

Hunters and anti-hunters blame each other

For its part, the La Futaie des Amis hunting crew rejected any incident.

“As soon as we approached the stadium, we recovered our dogs,” assures Alain Drach, the manager, to

Oise Hebdo

.

According to him, some followers would have gained the parking lot but the hunters on horseback would have stayed behind.

On the contrary, the hunter points to the behavior of the members of the AVA, present on the scene.

Opponents of the hunt would have driven the deer towards Saint-Sauveur.

“I didn't want to take a deer in the village,” says Alain Drach.

But for the association, the hunters violated a prefectural decree which, since 1979, has prohibited hunting with hounds "in urban areas".

The riders ensure that they have stayed in the forest to pursue the deer.
