An unstoppable left foot recovery at the penalty spot.

After a quarter of an hour of play, Tunisia opens the scoring with this gesture of Aïssa Laidouni (19th).

Tunisia's iconic captain Wahbi Khazri can double the penalty spot in the 29th minute.

Except that the Zambian doorman, Toaster Nsabata, dives on the right side to stop the leather.

Wahbi Khazri still important

It is only a postponement since in the process, Wahbi Khazri makes up for it by slipping a ball to Saîf-Eddine Khaoui who hands over to Mohamed Drager.

The latter scores this second goal which allows the Tunisians to take the lead (32nd).

But the case is not over.

Also, before returning to the locker room, walking despite the pressure and criticism, the Tunisians continue to put pressure on Zambia with a third goal signed Ali Maaloul, alone at the entrance of the Zambian penalty area (44th).

Zambia closes the gap for honor

In the second half, Zambia reduced the score with a penalty, after a foul by Dylan Bronn on Patson Daka.

Fashion Sakala misses his shot, but takes the ball pushed back by the Tunisian goalkeeper and scores his goal (79th).

Leaders of their group before the start of this meeting against Zambia, Wahbi Khazri's teammates had their destiny in hand on this sixth and final day.

Bet fulfilled.

Appointment made for the roadblocks

After a fanfare start (three victories in the first three days), the Tunisians had marked time by drawing against Mauritania (0-0) and a defeat against Equatorial Guinea (0-1).

So much so that they had seen Zambia pick up again at the top of the standings.

It was therefore necessary to re-mobilize to continue the adventure and to afford a place in the play-offs, in order to hope to play another World Cup in Qatar for the Carthage Eagles, present last time in Russia.

In six qualifying matches, Tunisia finally conceded only two goals.

It was last week during this misstep against Equatorial Guinea and today against Zambia.

Shadow on the board, we will note the suspension of Wahbi Khazri for the first play-off ...
