The Gard firefighters intervened on Monday for an unusual rescue.

They rescued a lama, who had fallen into the bed of a river, from which he could not extricate himself, in Saint-Jean-du-Gard, a town in the Cévennes located about sixty kilometers from Nîmes.

The animal baptized Kuzco, visibly injured after falling from a low wall, was extracted from this predicament using straps.

Intervention of a specialized rescue team

"Unable to move, he was extracted by the firefighters of Saint-Jean du Gard, reinforced by a rescue team specializing in animals", explains the Sdis (Departmental fire and rescue service) of Gard.

After picking him up, his owner took Kuzco to a vet.
