A private jet carried out training flights for three hours on Saturday, over Colmar (Haut-Rhin).
The device, belonging to a Hamburg airline, had traveled from Baden-Baden for “touch and go” type tests, reports
L'Alsace
.
The flight over the region intrigued and annoyed the residents, indicate our colleagues, disturbed by the noise and the risk of pollution.
The business aircraft made numerous takeoffs and landings at Colmar airport.
Each time the wheels touched the tarmac, the pilot put the throttle back into the air.
“It happens from time to time that this type of plane lands in Colmar, not for training but for commercial or VIP flights, for heads of large companies or music stars for example, since it takes approximately 5,000 to 10,000 euros per flight hour, ”explains Lionel Boll, head of airport operations, to the daily.
Move training away from homes
For his part, the mayor (LR) of the city, Eric Straumann, reacted on Facebook, believing that the airport should not "become an aeronautical training base".
"Takeoff-landing exercises can be operated on airport sites located far from homes," said the city councilor.
The latter wants training near urban areas to be better supervised.
