The chef Hélène Darroze, well known to viewers of

Top Chef

on M6, paid tribute this weekend to her uncle Claude Darroze, a great figure in the kitchen.

“My uncle Claude went away that night to join his beloved brother,” she wrote in an Instagram message on Sunday.

The story is very beautiful and there are some who will enjoy it.

But our big family is orphaned by its two patriarchs.

Indeed, the death of Claude Darroze follows by a few days that of his brother, and father of Hélène, Francis Darroze.

As France Bleu reminds us, the name of Francis Darroze remains linked to the world of gastronomy and armagnac.

He was the chef and manager of the family restaurant Le Relais in Villeneuve-de-Marsan in the Landes, created by his grandfather in 1895, and had entered the armagnac market in the 1970s. Claude Darroze, he had won two Michelin stars with a restaurant in his name in Langon in Gironde.
