Journalists from the editorial staff of the international news channel France 24 are calling for a strike for Thursday.

They thus intend to denounce numerous dysfunctions within the chain.

They warn in particular about the lack of consideration from which freelance journalists suffer.

This is an angry editorial staff.

The journalists of the editorial staff of France 24, engaged in an arm wrestling with the leaders of the international news channel, launched Friday a call to strike for the day of Thursday, November 18.

They thus intend to denounce numerous dysfunctions within the chain.

In an internal press release consulted by AFP, they cite a lack of "human and financial resources", a "lack of anticipation", "opacity in decision-making", and a "total lack of listening and inclusion of chain collaborators "who would govern" a system that is at the end of its rope ".

A motion of no confidence voted on November 4

They also warn about the lack of consideration vis-à-vis freelancers.

Freelancers are those freelance journalists that the company pays by the day, according to its needs.

The editorial staff of France 24 had already voted a motion of no confidence in its management on November 4.

The text was voted by 60% of the workforce.

A delegation of employees is to meet with management on Monday.

A new general assembly will then take place at the beginning of the week, in order to determine whether the call to strike is maintained or not.
