Have you recently received an email from Lidl promising you earnings?
Be careful, this is a scam, it is actually a phishing campaign, reports
Numerama on
Monday.
The lots that are promised are worth the detour.
On mobile, it is displayed that you can win a prize worth 90 dollars, on computer, it is an iPhone 12 or a Samsung Galaxy S20 which are offered.
To deceive the victims, the Lidl logo appears in the body of the email.
And the title of the post is unequivocal: “Congratulations!
You have been selected.
The message refers to "an exclusive offer".
But to get it, you have to complete a short questionnaire on Lidl.
By clicking on the link in the email, the victim finds himself on a website whose URL has no connection with the German distribution chain.
Win a coffee maker, vacuum cleaner or computer
A questionnaire appears on the screen, as well as a timer. Completing this questionnaire can lead to free prizes (a coffee maker, a vacuum cleaner, a computer or a latest generation phone). But none of this is true. Depending on the lot chosen, the victim is referred to other questionnaires and is finally asked to mention his personal and banking data. Which is obviously never recommended to do.
After a while, no more lots are mentioned.
The victim is finally offered a transaction of two euros with a subscription of ten euros.
If you have ever been the victim of this scam, it is necessary to file a stopper on your bank card as soon as possible.
In the event of a suspicious transaction on the bank account, you can report it on Perceval, the public platform dedicated to reporting bank fraud.
