Saudi Arabia: A video of a "premeditated crime" signed by a "Snapchat" celebrity.

Saudi security authorities summoned a famous citizen of "Snapchat" after he posted a false video on social media with the aim of promoting his account, according to the official Saudi Press Agency.

The media spokesman for the Qassim region police said that the security authorities "summoned a citizen who claimed, in a video clip that he documented and published on social media, that he had been subjected to a crime of extortion from a person in exchange for a sum of money."

He added that the initial inference procedures prompted the accused to admit that his claim was false and that "the incident was fabricated, with the aim of promoting his account."

The spokesman announced that the competent authorities had taken the initial legal measures against the accused, and referred him to the Public Prosecution branch.

The Saudi authorities did not reveal the name of the accused, but users of social networking sites said that the case concerned a Snapchat celebrity named “MR”, who claimed that someone recorded for him a clip containing words “that is only said in private councils,” and threatened to publish the clip. If he does not pay 500 thousand riyals
