How can the private sector help revive economies in Africa?

Hassanein Hiridjeen, co-CEO of Axian is the Grand Guest of the RFI / Jeune Afrique economy.

Interviewed by Bruno Faure (RFI) and Julien Clémençot (Jeune Afrique), this Franco-Malagasy entrepreneur details the strategy of his group created in the 1930s in Madagascar and which, since then, has grown.

Today, it is a diversified group present in Telecoms, banking, but also energy production, distribution of petroleum products and real estate.

Axian (which generates more than $ 1.2 billion in sales) is established in many other African countries: in the Comoros, Senegal, Togo and soon in Tanzania.

With a slogan: “Let's Grow Together”.  

This interview also deals with major topical issues on the continent: energy transition, financial inclusion, the economic recovery of Africa more generally in sometimes troubled contexts, relations between France and its former colonies, the question monetary policy and, in particular, that of the reform of the CFA Franc.
