The Sharjah Book Authority and the Emirates Writers Union signed a joint cooperation agreement to organize events and initiatives throughout the year, divided between poetry evenings, literary seminars and creative forums, to enrich the cultural and knowledge life of the Emirati community.

This agreement stems from the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, towards strengthening constructive cooperation between Emirati cultural institutions in general and Emirati writers in particular. The state, which provides for the organization of cultural events that serve the current creativity movement in the state, and celebrates the march of the state's achievements over the past 50 years.

Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, said: “Based on a well-established vision established by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, we seek to build bridges of constructive communication with various institutions and bodies to support the cultural and knowledge process in the country, We value the pioneering role played by the Emirates Writers Union in supporting the Emirati cultural movement with initiatives that raise the literary and cognitive taste of society, and enhance the impact and strength of the culture that the state has created over 50 years in its investment, to be a major element of the Emirates identity worldwide.”

Al Ameri added: "We meet at the Sharjah Book Authority with the Emirates Writers Union on a number of goals, the most important of which is investing in energies to build a book-related generation that is qualified to read, to be able to achieve the aspirations and aspirations of the state, and to lead its civilized project."

Sultan Al-Amimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Writers Union, said: “This initiative constitutes an important step to highlight the cultural, literary, artistic and creative movement in the UAE during the past 50 years, as well as to stand on the current reality and future plans in the same regard. In translating our efforts into an integrated unit through which we exchange experiences and strengthen ties of cooperation over a whole year, to develop initiatives and events that are exceptional in their launch and impact, so as to enrich the literary and cultural scene.”

Al-Amimi added: "The Sharjah Book Authority continues to demonstrate its leadership in leading a cultural development process that serves knowledge and enhances the value of the book."
