A female West Indian manatee born and raised in an aquarium in Motobu, Okinawa, turned 20 last month and continues to set the longest breeding record for any domestic breeding individual.

The American manatee female "Yuma" was born on October 13, 2001 at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Motobu, Okinawa Prefecture.

When he was born, he was estimated to be 1 meter 15 centimeters long and weigh 28 kilograms, but now he is over 3 meters long and weighs about 700 kilograms, and he turned 20 last month.

According to the aquarium, if you compare it to a human, you are about 40 years old, but "Yuma" has a strong appetite and has not been ill for the last 20 years.

It was the longest domestic breeding individual of the West Indian Manatee and continued to set a new breeding record, swimming around the aquarium vigorously for 13 days.

A woman from Shizuoka Prefecture said, "It's so big, it's the first time I've seen it up close, and I'm thrilled. I want you to live longer."

Masae Makabe of Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium said, "Yuma loves to eat and is a glutton, so it is the biggest manatees in this aquarium. I will. "
