The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Revival Center organized the first preliminary race for foreign participants in the camel journey, with the participation of 23 competitors of both sexes, from 17 countries, who ran a 1.2 km race at Al Marmoom Track at the Dubai Camel Club.

China's Xiaozi won first place, followed by German Pauline Bisker in second place, and German Jessa Agling in third place.

It witnessed the participation of 23 contestants out of 30 participants in the camel journey organized by the center in its eighth edition, during which they will roam the Emirati desert to reach the final site, which this time will be the Expo 2020 Dubai World Fair, in celebration of the establishment of this international event on state soil for the first time in the history of the region.

The list of participants in the race included: Estonian Laura Ezzat, German Paulin Pesker, Sweden's Claudia Guanberg, German Emilia Pesker, South Korea's Jeol Bang, German Paulin Pesker, Czech Jana Ventruva, Austrian Rinat Antolkovic, American Mariam Suhrawardi Al Ahmad, and Saudi Arabia. And the Polish Monica Dziwinska, the Italian Nicola Petio, the American Howard Leadham, the French Muhammad Amehdar, the Indian Brijomon Kolangara, the Indian Ammar Ahmed, the Indian Bilal Palekar, the Filipino Nathaniel Al-Abeed, the Chinese Xiaozi Hu, the British Shirley Wilkinson, the Iranian Fernush Jeszek Ezzatullah, and the German Danussi Zdenkova, and Algerian Bouchra Zigmi.

The CEO of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival, Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmouk, crowned the first places, expressing his happiness with the high number of participants, the diversity of nationalities in this version of the camel journey, and their quest to learn the skills correctly and accurately, as the event exceeded the framework of the heritage sports competition, To turn into a unique and multinational social forum between residents of the United Arab Emirates, the land of tolerance and love between the various peoples of the world since ancient times, which was embodied in the quest of these participants to participate in this type of race stemming from the Emirati heritage.

Italian Nicola Petio (55 years old): “To ride a camel and participate in a race is something I did not imagine in my childhood, but by virtue of my residence in the UAE for three years, and before that in Saudi Arabia, I became closer to this type of heritage sports, and getting to know camels more closely. Therefore, it was only a matter of time for me before I had this wonderful experience from the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage.”

American Maryam Suhrawardi, of Syrian and Iraqi origin, revealed that the huge billboard on the streets of Dubai about the camel journey made her search for information to live the experience. And embark on a camel journey in the heart of the desert, which will be held next month.”

camel trip

The eighth edition of the camel journey, organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, will start on the ninth of next December, for a period of 13 days, starting from the Liwa region, in the Western Desert, Abu Dhabi, and ending with the last stop in Dubai "Expo 2020".

The participants will travel daily on camel backs to cover the specified distance for the trip, which is more than 500 km, in the middle of the sand dunes, in a pre-prepared itinerary.

The trip will include rest and camping stations, and the participants will be provided with all the necessary requirements for the trip, including food, drink, individual tents, and the camels that they will travel on their backs to their supplies.
