The Emirates Publishers Association concluded its participation in the 40th session of the Sharjah International Book Fair, which was marked by many events organized over 11 days in its pavilion, including its reception of Arab and international delegations participating in the exhibition, with whom it discussed ways to enhance communication and cooperation in supporting publishers and the publishing sector in general. In addition, signing ceremonies are organized for 14 books issued by seven publishing houses that fall within the association, and a workshop was held to introduce publishers to the management of copyrights, in addition to launching the official identity and vision of the "Platform Distribution Company".

The meetings and meetings held by the association at the exhibition included Arab and foreign delegations representing publishing houses and institutions concerned with the publishing sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Argentina, Spain, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, in addition to the Arab Publishers Association, the Nelson Group, local, Arab and foreign publishers, and shops Local and international retail outlets, in addition to holding a series of meetings with a number of local institutions and bodies.

These meetings discussed aspects of future cooperation with regard to the book industry and the publishing sector in general, and its impact on providing new investment opportunities in the local and international publishing market, as well as exchanging knowledge and experiences between Emirati and Arab and foreign publishers.

In a move aimed at gathering authors with readers at the Sharjah International Book Fair, and introducing the public to the latest publications of the Emirati publishing houses for this season, the association organized in its pavilion at the fair, signing parties for a group of titles, which included 14 books covering the fields of poetry, story, novel, folk tales and literary criticism.

During its participation in the exhibition, the association launched the official identity and vision of the "Platform Distribution Company", which His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, directed to establish it last May, with the aim of supporting publishers, keeping pace with their requirements and helping them export their business regionally and internationally. The vision included striving for the company to be the number one source for Arabic books, in order to expand the reading area in the region and the world.

The Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association, Rashid Al-Kous, stressed that the association's participation in the Sharjah Book Fair represents a great opportunity to present the Emirati experience in the publishing industry, and to learn about everything new in the publishing world through our meetings and communication with various Arab and foreign countries participating in the exhibition.
