[Explanation] Wuhu Lake, located in Huangpi District, Wuhan City, is the World Wildlife Fund Wetland Nature Reserve and the national-level aquatic germplasm resource protection area of Yellow catfish.

On this 46,000 acres of water, a two-story stilted building stands in the middle of the water-this is the home of Wang Ruixue and Hu Haiying.

[Explanation] Recently, the reporter visited Wuhu and the Diaojiaolou in the lake.

To reach the Diaojiaolou from the shore, it takes about 8 minutes by speedboat.

[Commentary] Wang Ruixue is 45 years old this year, with dark skin. He is one of the four players of the Wuhu Lake Patrol Team.

In 1996, the young man came to Wuhan Wuhu Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. as a lake patroller. In 1998, the company built a stilt building for the patrolling team in the waters of Wuhu Lake. Wang Ruixue lived here for 23 years.

In 2004, his wife Hu Haiying also came to the Diaojiaolou, responsible for the logistics of the lake patrol team.

[Explanation] This stilt building is supported by 12 load-bearing columns. It has a kitchen, a bathroom, several bedrooms, and simple appliances such as TVs and refrigerators. Three meals a day and four seasons are all their lives. .

Anyway, every day after dinner is patrol, after dinner is patrol.

(Patrol) It may be close to 6 hours in one lap.

24 hours a day (on duty), 4 days off each month, 24 hours on duty, departure at any time when there is something to do.

I was definitely not used to it at the beginning, and there is no place for activities here. I am not used to it. I slowly get used to it.

[Commentary] On December 31, 2018, Wuhu implemented a comprehensive arrest ban.

The lake patrol team has new work content-ban on catching duty, ecological restoration, and lake surface cleaning.

Wang Ruixue realized more and more that patrolling the lake was more of a responsibility.

He and his teammates drive a speedboat and patrol the lake 3-4 times a day to check whether there are ground cages, garbage, electric fish, and wire nets.

Even at night, I have to patrol the lake every few hours.

[Explanation] Before the Wuhu ban, fishermen were rampant. Wang Ruixue was threatened and smashed by bricks.

Nowadays, the citizens' awareness of ecological protection is getting stronger, and the number of fishermen is greatly reduced.

Green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains. The work we do is not for others, but for ourselves, the living conditions (environment), which are still improved compared to the past.

From an economic point of view, we are doing this job to defend (not) the loss of state-owned assets. Only when the country is rich can the people become strong.

[Commentary] Speaking of family members, Wang Ruixue said frankly that due to work reasons, only on weekends occasionally go ashore to visit the children and the elderly, and I owe them a lot.

  [Concurrent] Wang Ruixue

What is more is the debt to the children, because originally we also read very little books, and then we spend less time with the children, let alone tutoring them with homework and the like.

This is our greatest guilt for them.

[Commentary] But when it comes to Wuhu, Wang Ruixue is very proud.

The Wuhu Lake 25 years ago was full of water and weeds; now, illegal fishing has been effectively curbed, and the water quality is maintained at Grade III.

In addition to yellow catfish, there are also a variety of aquatic germplasm resources, such as group head bream, octopus, and Chinese soft-shelled turtle.

Fish leaped up from the blue waves from time to time, and flocks of waterbirds flew across the water with ease.

In the past, in this lake, I found that there were very few swans, but in recent years there have been more and more swans.

The most I have seen are swans and mallards, at least a few hundred large, and there may be one or two hundred swans alone.

(Wuhu) This is now a piece of clean water, and the water quality is always in the third category. I think I am very proud and proud.

[Explanation] The stilt building facing the water is like a tiny "island" in the middle of Lake Wu.

Wang Ruixue and Hu Haiying laughed and called it a "lake-view room". Wang Ruixue said that he persisted for more than 20 years and dedicated his youth to the lake. Only by staying here can he be at ease.

  [Concurrent] Wang Ruixue

I'm really used to living here, and sometimes I get insomnia when I go home, and I can sleep well here.

  [Synchronization] Hu Hai Ying

If my husband has been working here, I will always accompany him and support him.
