With two to three million tourists each year, Mont-Saint-Michel is one of the main tourist destinations in France.

But in recent months, its medieval streets have been deserted due to the coronavirus pandemic which has plagued the entire tourist sector.

Fortunately, visitors were there during the All Saints holidays.

"The number of intra-muros pedestrian crossings is up + 3.7% over the fortnight of the school holidays which ends, compared to the year 2019, which remains the reference year", indicates in a press release the National Public Establishment of Mont-Saint-Michel.

A 39% increase in attendance compared to 2020

"If we refer to the year 2020, this increase reached + 39%, over the same period, which confirms the clear recovery and the very minor effects of the health crisis," the statement continued.

Placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Ministry of Culture, the national public establishment of Mont-Saint-Michel, created in December 2019, is responsible for "ensuring unified management of the site as well as the development of Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay, in conjunction with local authorities and economic players ”.
