Nine young people have been confirmed dead after Travis Scott's concert in Houston last week.

Just as many died in the audience during the band Pearl Jam's concert at the Roskilde Festival just over twenty years ago.

After the event, routines were changed regarding how to handle the audience at large events and they began to collaborate internationally on the issue.

- It is about having to assess the festival area and how to deal with the people in terms of congestion, movement patterns, the flow through the entrances and such things, says Morten Therkildsen.

- It should be clear before you bring in people and then you should keep an eye on them when they are at the festival.

The investigation is ongoing

What actually happened during the concert in Houston is still being investigated and no explanations have yet been published about what caused the deaths.

How to work to avoid a tragedy such as at the Roskilde Festival and most recently at Astroworld, there is no definitive solution.

There is not only one right way to handle security, says Morten Therkildsen.

- We are constantly developing our systems and keeping up to date with research.

We follow developments so that we can renew our way of working.
