After the mass panic that left nine dead at a US music festival in Houston, well-known victim attorney Ben Crump has filed dozens of civil suits.

Crump said on Friday in the metropolis in the state of Texas that he and other lawyers would represent more than 200 victims.

Together they had submitted 93 complaints.

His clients were "mentally, physically and psychologically injured" at the Astroworld Festival by rapper Travis Scott, said Crump.

"Some of these victims were catastrophically injured."

The lawsuits are directed, among other things, against the concert promoter Live Nation, as Crump said.

Rapper Travis Scott is also listed in the lawsuits.

"We will make sure that no one escapes his responsibility," said Crump, who has become known as an advocate for the relatives of black people who were killed by the police, such as George Floyd.

At the press conference on Friday, several concert-goers also appeared in front of the cameras.

"It was a nightmare," said 59-year-old Gertrude Daughtery.

“I never thought that a concert would turn out to be such a catastrophe.

That you buy a ticket that becomes a death ticket. "

The 31-year-old Dishon Isaac compared last Friday's concert with a "war zone".

“Fights broke out, people threw water bottles.” The concert-goers were like “sardines in a can”.

"I realized that I had to get out of there or that I would be crushed to death."

The mass panic occurred at the Astroworld Festival in downtown Houston with around 50,000 spectators.

Nine people died and many more were injured.

In the days after the accident, the first lawsuits were filed against, among others, Live Nation and Travis Scott.

In a lawsuit, the rapper is accused of causing chaos.

Investigations into the causes of the mass panic are currently ongoing.

The Astroworld Festival has been organized by Travis Scott since 2018.

The rapper said he was shocked by the misfortune.
