In Kyoto City, which has many tourist attractions, a joint declaration ceremony was held in which related organizations such as hotels and taxis pledged to thoroughly prevent infection of the new corona in order to encourage tourists to enjoy sightseeing safely.

The ceremony was attended by about 20 people, including Mayor Kadokawa of Kyoto City, and people from tourism-related organizations such as hotels, taxis, and restaurants.

A city official explained that the infection with the new coronavirus has settled down and that the number of tourists visiting the area is showing signs of increasing.

In light of these circumstances, the ceremony agreed to reinforce infection prevention measures, strive to ensure the safety and security of both Kyoto citizens and tourists, and strive to harmonize citizens' lives with tourism.

In this, Mayor Kadokawa said, "I realized again that tourism is a key industry due to the influence of the new corona. I want to enjoy better tourism."

Seiji Tanaka, chairman of the tourism association, said, "I would like to educate travelers to keep their morals in order to harmonize with the lives of citizens."

In addition, the city of Kyoto and the Tourism Association have begun efforts to receive benefits at stores in the city by showing vaccination certificates from this month, and are aiming to promote tourism while suppressing the spread of infection.
