【Explanation】The bright red and full, three-dimensional lychees are mouth-watering in Liang Xiaoman's stitches and threads.

Liang Xiaoman is the sixth-generation heir of the Guangxiu family. From the age of five or six, she has studied Guang embroidery with her mother Liang Xiuling (Master of Guang embroidery).

[Explanation] Guang embroidery is one of the four famous embroidery in China. It is the general name of a generation of folk embroidery craftsmanship in the Pearl River Delta with Guangzhou as the center. It has a history of more than a thousand years.

It is understood that the Ming and Qing Dynasties were the heyday of the export of Guangxi embroidery, which once led the social fashion in Europe and America.

Liang Xiaoman was born in a family of Guang embroidery in Beiting Village, Panyu. She grew up on the embroidery frame and has a natural love for Guang embroidery since she was a child.

What really decisively influenced Liang Xiaoman's subsequent journey to the inheritance of Cantonese embroidery was a work she completed in middle school.

During the period from junior high school to high school, because I was very fond of animation at that time, my mother would encourage me to embroider some of my favorite themes at that time.

At that time, I really embroidered a piece of work that really belonged to me. Whether in terms of subject matter or technique, it completely escaped from what I had learned before, and integrated some contemporary designs and contemporary designs. The painting concept is in it, so it will have a breakthrough with traditional things.

And I have seen that there are many possibilities in Guang embroidery. It is no longer the themes of flowers, birds, fish, insects, and phoenixes that we have traditionally seen, but you can embroider whatever you like. As long as you use this technique, Grasp the connotation of this culture and learn well.

[Explanation] Opening the first window of innovation strengthened Liang Xiaoman's determination to inherit Guangxi embroidery.

In order to explore more possibilities of Guang embroidery, Liang Xiaoman specially chose environmental art design major when he was in college, and wanted to integrate Guang embroidery into people's living environment.

I wanted to integrate Canton Embroidery into our environment, so I chose Huan Yi (environmental art) at that time, so after graduating from university, I did some soft outfit design.

I wanted to make a work more suitable for the market, so I later made such a hand-painted and embroidered "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains".

The whole work is first drawn by hand, and then some key parts are partially embroidered.

It will take at least one year for us to embroider the whole piece, but if we do it by hand and embroidery, we can make this piece in about three months.

In this way, our costs can be greatly reduced.

[Explanation] Not only the home furnishings, but also earrings, necklaces, headbands, ties, Hanfu... All scenes close to life, Liang Xiaoman will incorporate Cantonese embroidery into them, so that Cantonese embroidery is no longer lying in the picture frame.

Guang embroidery is not just a picture or a work, its subject matter is old-fashioned, it can also be some fashionable content.

It can be a match we usually wear out to show our taste.

Not only in this aspect, we also cooperate with car brands.

For example, we have cooperated with Hongqi Automobile and made its car interiors. After making it, it is very beautiful.

[Explanation] Mother Liang Xiuling expressed her support for her daughter's bold attempt.

As the inheritor of the older generation, Liang Xiuling believes that every era has its corresponding aesthetic and social environment. Guang embroidery can last for thousands of years precisely because it can develop its own themes and creative techniques with the changes of the times, forming a unique style And charm.

Only with innovation can we go further and achieve social and market acceptance.

Especially (Liang Xiaoman) she read design when she was studying, so she combined design with Cantonese embroidery when she came out, that is, combining traditional stitching with modern design is a brand new situation.

[Explanation] In addition to exploring more possibilities for wide embroidery, Liang Xiaoman also makes his own efforts to cultivate a new generation of inheritors.

She brought Guang Embroidery into kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools and colleges, so that this intangible cultural heritage gradually ceased to be a complex skill in the eyes of students, but an artistic interest that can bring a sense of accomplishment and pleasure.

[Concurrent] Student Wang of Tianhe Foreign Language School

This is a tree I embroidered from the first class, and then there are a few birds.

Then draw this trunk and there will be "renew needles".

And then the little bit above that feels like "seed injection".

I have learned a lot of different stitches, and then I can embroider a lot of beautiful works, it is very fulfilling.

At the beginning, I felt that the threshold seemed to be high, and I felt that this kind of thing was very advanced.

As I learnt slowly, I discovered that there seems to be nothing too difficult to make people give up. I think it's fun and interesting. It feels like embroidering things like calming down is a very pleasant feeling.

[Explanation] For Liang Xiaoman, although he is immersed in the sea of Guang embroidery every day, he can draw new energy from it every day.

Through each piece of work, she was able to glimpse the lives of her ancestors while gaining new inspiration and the courage to continue to explore.

We can try everything that Canton Embroidery can do.

Whether it is in cultural creation or in some creations in other categories.

I think the most important thing is to dare to try and dare to experiment.

In these experiments, we may well discover a particularly good way to pass on.
