Australian media reported that police rescued a man who had been stuck in a tree for more than six hours after rainwater washed his car off the road in the remote Northern Territory state.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) said yesterday that the 33-year-old was driving near the Todd River in Alice Springs when floods swept away his car after a 24-hour rain.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation, citing police, added that it took the fire service more than six hours to avoid endangering others, until police rescued him.
