“100 years later, VKHUTEMAS online workshops are reviving the teachings of the legendary creative school in a new shell of digital media,” said Kirill Karnovich-Valois, creative director of RT Creative Lab.
The project also plans to present a series of deepfake videos by Rodchenko.LIVE, in which Rodchenko will read video lectures in the first person.
“The challenge was not simply to create a 'face' using a neural network.
In fact, not having a single archival film fragment, we made up the image of the artist anew - as we imagined him after studying the archives, memories, conversations with relatives, ”explained the director of Rodchenko.LIVE Alexander Skriabin.
Earlier, the original VHUTETYPE font was created for the RT project, inspired by the work of teachers and students of the workshops.
The design was developed in collaboration with the graphic artist Petr Bankov.
