This Thursday, November 11, the last Companion of the Liberation Hubert Germain is buried in Mont-Valérien, the main place of execution of resistance fighters during the Second World War.

This ceremony, chaired by Emmanuel Macron, is of course a tribute, but also a time of meditation to remember this Second World War, the crimes of Nazism and the Holocaust.

In the United States, the survivors of this era are rare, and those who pass on their history and their testimonies even more.
