After more than 900 days of construction, the Tongguling Tunnel, the longest tunnel on the entire line from Fangchenggang to Dongxing Railway (Fangdong Railway) in Guangxi, was successfully completed on November 9. One-step track laying and construction of communication and signal engineering will create favorable conditions.

According to reports, the Fangdong Railway, as an extension of the high-speed rail along the coast of Guangxi, is the first railway to reach Dongxing, the sea-land connecting port of China and ASEAN countries.

The total length of the line is 46.9 kilometers, and the infrastructure is reserved for 250 kilometers/hour, including 8 tunnels. Among them, the Tongguling Tunnel is 3790 meters long, which is the longest tunnel in the entire line.

After the completion and operation of the Fangdong Railway, Fangchenggang to Dongxing will end the history of no railway traffic. The transportation time between the two places will be shortened from the current 90 minutes to 20 minutes, which will greatly improve the urban traffic conditions at the border ports.
