Travis Scott is probably going to need some time before he goes back on stage.

After the fatal accident which claimed the lives of eight of his fans, during the Astroworld festival, the rapper would be "too disturbed" to play, according to his entourage, quoted by

Variety

, and he therefore canceled his participation in Day N Vegas Festival, scheduled for next weekend.

The artist would also have committed to reimburse all festival-goers of Astroworld, without exception.

After the drama, the role of the rapper and his producers when the situation seemed to be getting critical was singled out.

According to the

Houston Chronicle

, firefighters and police declared a "mass accident" event as early as 9:38 pm, requiring the concert to end as soon as possible.

Despite this, Travis Scott remained on stage until the scheduled end of his set, which is 10:15 p.m.

However, the Houston police official defended the decision not to immediately cancel the concert, saying that an end too abrupt could have "caused a riot".

What about drugs?

In any case, the investigation is continuing and the police are now seeking to determine the precise circumstances of the death of the eight victims.

While it seems clear, given the crowds, that crowd movements are partly to blame, authorities also want to determine whether drugs have not played a role.

The

Wall Street Journal

quotes a source close to the investigation, which evokes the presence during the concert of fentanyl pills, this powerful and deadly painkiller (which notably caused the fatal overdose of the singer Prince).

There is no proof for the moment that the deaths are linked to drug use, but Judge Lina Hidalgo, interviewed by CNN, believes that toxicological reports will play "a key role" in the investigations.

“But it's going to take weeks,” she announced.

In the meantime, Travis Scott is already targeted by twenty complaints, if we are to believe the American channel.

The rapper also promised that he would pay the burial costs of the eight victims.
