Chinanews, Chongqing, November 9th, title: How do cultural relics come alive?

Cheng Wuyan, Director of the Three Gorges Museum: Let the museum be a good "urban cultural living room"

China News Service reporter Liu Xianglin

"The museum must set its own position. It should not always treat itself as a cultural palace. It should also be an'urban cultural living room' so that the cultural relics can be brought to life and the cultural heritage can be passed on." Cheng Wuyan, curator of the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum, accepted reporters on the 9th During the interview, he said that with the increasing popularity of museums, museums will become an indispensable treasure house of knowledge and spiritual food in people's lives. It should be a "urban cultural living room" to give the city new connotations and meanings.

The "Witness·Boost·Contribution" Gucheng Talk·Chongqing (season 1) event co-sponsored by the Chongqing Branch of China News Agency and the independent bookstore in Shiguangli is currently being held here.

The event was launched through four chapters: cultural history, rule of law, architecture, and art. It aims to present, explore and tell the historical figures and stories of the old city of Chongqing, so that cultural power can inject fresh vitality into the exchanges between Chongqing and the world.

From "I repaired cultural relics in the Forbidden City", to "China in Classics", and then to "National Treasures", in recent years traditional cultural IP has continued to emerge and continue to become popular, setting off a craze for classics, Hanfu, cultural and creative industries in the society Hot... More and more traditional cultures are starting a "breaking circle", especially among young people.

In Cheng Wuyan's view, the beauty of classics and national treasures conveys a value that transcends time and space and reflects the phenomenon of cultural return behind the scenes.

Cheng Wuyan said that culture and human development and progress go hand in hand. Now more and more people, especially young people, like ancient culture because the rapid progress and development of today’s society has caused tremendous mental pressure on human beings.

Although the society and culture are diverse and people are rich in material life, they are exhausted.

In this situation, people want to be more relaxed, and the past culture has created another possibility for people to enjoy and make themselves very relaxed.

At the same time, using the aesthetics of modern people, we have made new packaging of ancient culture and produced cultural and creative products that make people feel that history has such a beautiful sense, so everyone will pursue ancient culture.

Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum is one of the first national first-class museums and a national museum jointly built by the central and local governments.

The exhibition hall covers an area of 27,000 square meters. There are 13 permanent exhibitions such as "The Magnificent Three Gorges", "Far Cuban Yu", "Chongqing·Urban Road", and "The Years of Anti-Japanese War". The annual average number of temporary exhibitions is 20 to 30, and the average annual service audience exceeds 3 million. Person times.

In 2013, Cheng Wuyan served as the party secretary and curator of the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum. He focused on promoting the intelligent construction of the museum, promoting the better preservation, display, research and dissemination of the Three Gorges cultural relics, and let the ancient cultural relics "live" and rejuvenate vitality.

"Let the cultural relics come alive is one of the fundamental purposes of cultural relics protection, and it is also something that must be done by cultural relics protectors." Cheng Wuyan said that it is necessary for historical culture to have a relationship with modern people, connect with modern people, and be inherited and promoted. Then both tangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage should be fully researched, excavated, displayed and passed on.

The museum is only one aspect of it. The exhibits are just a fragment of history. To display and promote more history and culture, more research is needed, and the research results are creatively transformed into a means of communication.

In addition to commonly used text and images, this method of communication should also have digital content, which should be reflected in a way that everyone likes.

In July of this year, the cultural relics digital activation project jointly initiated by the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum and Tencent was launched on Tencent’s "Glory of the King" platform, inspired by the Baiheliang inscription, incorporating design elements such as stone fish, inscriptions, and water patterns. Created the image of "Baiheliang Goddess" to show the personality of Chongqing people who respect nature, adapt to the environment, and persevere.

Through the expression of "cultural relics + digitization", Baiheliang culture will be radiated with new vitality in the context of the new era, and more young people will be guided to understand and pay attention to Baiheliang, so as to realize the innovative dissemination of excellent traditional culture in the contemporary era.

Cheng Wuyan said that the cooperation between the museum and Tencent is a good attempt to bring cultural relics to life, and it has achieved good results. More young people have learned about Baiheliang, "the only ancient hydrological station in the world that is well-preserved."

In the future, the museum will also cooperate with other Internet organizations to use digital technology to allow history and the future to dialogue across time and space, and strive to reshape the audience’s visit and cognitive system through a precise, intelligent, multi-source, and interactive model, so that cultural relics can be A more convenient way to enter the public, so that the audience can more easily understand the culture behind the cultural relics.

The Three Gorges is the most dangerous and magical gorge on the Yangtze River for thousands of miles. It has bred rich cultural relics and is known as the colorful movement of the Yangtze River civilization.

During the construction of the Three Gorges Project, my country's rescue protection of cultural relics in the Three Gorges Reservoir area is the largest cultural relics protection project in my country so far, with the widest protection scope and the largest number of participants. More than 200,000 cultural relics have been rescued.

Cheng Wuyan believes that it is necessary to increase research on these Three Gorges cultural relics, and make reasonable and appropriate use on the basis of protection, so that the cultural relics collected in the museum, the heritage displayed on the vast land, and the words written in the ancient books are all alive and displayed. Their charm can get people's love and make cultural relics come alive.
