This "Satomi Scarecrow Festival" is held every year in the Satomi district of Hitachiota City at this time of year, and about 60 handmade scarecrows made by local people and people inside and outside the prefecture are exhibited.

Many of these things were related to the new coronavirus, and there were scarecrows calling for hand washing and wearing masks, and scarecrows in the shape of folded paper cranes with a wish for the end.
