A series on the Jonathann Daval affair.

The book

Alexia, our daughter

co-written by producer Thomas Chagnaud and the parents of Alexia Daval, killed in 2017 by her husband Jonathann, will be adapted in series, Gaumont announced in a press release on Tuesday.

The production company has acquired with Nac Films the rights to the work, published at the end of October by Editions Robert Laffont, with a view to a "6x52 minute series project", it is specified.

Three years of hardship

In this book, Isabelle and Jean-Pierre Fouillot, the parents of Alexia Daval, recount three years of hardship after the feminicide suffered by their daughter, who died at age 29.

They also retrace at length her journey, from her meeting with Jonathann Daval, when she was 16, to her death thirteen years later.

This adaptation announcement is in line with the trend of true stories brought to the screen, a phenomenon maintained in particular by streaming platforms constantly looking for new content.
