• The Montpellier start-up Trivia Sharing is installing lockers in companies, capable of delivering a gentle means of locomotion to employees who need it.

  • The town hall of Baillargues or the Village by Crédit Agricole has fallen for this system.

  • The company plans to expand its self-service locker concept to other areas, including tool sharing, in residences.

A scooter, or a folding electric-assisted bicycle, as if you were having coffee from a vending machine. This is the idea of Trivia Sharing. This Montpellier start-up, created in 2019, has been installing boxes or 2.0 docking stations in companies for a little over a month, capable of delivering a gentle means of transport to an employee who would need it right away. , to move

All you have to do is scan a QR code, via a dedicated mobile application, and the locker opens.

“We are taking the opposite view from free-floating companies, which offer scooters and bikes for everyone,” explains Romain Foussadier, one of the co-founders of Trivia Sharing.

We are addressing communities.

»Only employees can use the device.

Or the students, if it is a large school.

It is free for users: it is the employers or the establishments that pay.

Depending on the options, it's 50 and 200 euros per month, per locker.

One-off trips, or between home and business

A helmet is also issued in the locker, and insurance is included, in case of accident, breakage, theft or breakdown.

And if the car ever gets stuck, a taxi is dispatched to pick up the user.

The device is designed to meet occasional travel needs, but if the employer agrees, the employee can even use the scooter or bicycle for his trips between the company and his home.

The concept is rather timely, in a period when soft mobility is at the heart of concerns.

“We were contacted by many sites, which had previously had fleets of cars,” says Romain Foussadier.

It is a real challenge for tomorrow.

The lockers of the start-up Trivia Sharing also have LED lights, which automatically disinfect the equipment when it is returned.

A concept soon to be extended to tools

The company has installed its system at the Village by Crédit Agricole, a start-up accelerator in Montpellier.

Five boxes have been installed in the hall of the building.

And the nursery is delighted.

"If a start-up needs to go to lunch in the city center, he reserves a scooter on the application, he picks it up, and he returns it on his return," says Patrick Brusley, the manager of the village.

If you need to get a registered letter from the Post Office, if you take your car out… Good luck.

The objective is in particular, for those who came by car in the morning, not to take it out again during the day.

"

A company managing a car park has also fallen for these boxes, in order to offer a solution to its users for "the last mile", explains Romain Foussadier. The town hall of Baillargues will also host three Trivia Sharing boxes by the end of the year. The device will allow employees, learned

20 Minutes

from the city services, to connect different sites in the town with a gentle means of transport.

If mobility issues launched its activity, Trivia Sharing plans to expand its concept of self-service lockers in communities to other areas.

The sharing of tools, in residences, in particular.

“As a resident, we don't necessarily use our tools very regularly,” explains Romain Foussadier.

They could be shared, still with the same locker system.

A drill, or a ladder, for 20 inhabitants, for example.
