Voting day this Sunday, November 7 for the general, legislative and presidential elections in Nicaragua.

Daniel Ortega, the outgoing president in power for 14 years, for lack of credible opposition is assured, except surprise, of being re-elected for a fourth term.

This poll gives us the opportunity to reflect on how he and his wife have confiscated power in this country.

Gilles Bataillon, specialist in Central America at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) is RFI's international guest.

He is the author of several books and texts on violence and politics in Central America.
