In Usuki City, Oita Prefecture, where the streets of the Edo period remain, "Takeyoi", which illuminates the city with candles on bamboo tubes, was held on a reduced scale for the first time in two years.

"Usuki Takeyoi" was canceled last year due to the influence of the new corona, but we have taken measures such as reducing the number of bamboo tubes installed from about 20,000 each year to 6,000 and making part of the venue one-way. It was held on the 6th for the first time in 2 years.

In the urban area where the streets of the Edo period remain, candlelight spilled from the bamboo tubes lined up on the cobblestone approach, creating a fantastic atmosphere.

There was also a bamboo tube in which local children wrote a wish such as "May the corona disappear soon", and the visitors enjoyed the long autumn night while walking slowly in the soft light. ..

A man in his 40s from Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, said, "It was very beautiful. I want the corona to calm down and return to the usual bustle."

"Usuki Takeyoi" was held on the night of the 7th, and the bamboo tubes were lit from 5 pm to 9 pm.
