[Rural Revitalization] Three Capitals of Guizhou: Horsetail Embroidery Drives Immigrant Women to Embroider "Flowers for Getting Rich"

Recently, in a horsetail embroidery workshop in the relocation community of Xuehu Lake, Zhonghe Town, Sandu Shui Autonomous County, Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, Shui embroiders are embroidering horsetail embroidery with horsetail hair.

The Snow Lake Immigrant Community of Zhonghe Town, also known as the "Mawei Embroidery Town", houses 5,832 people from 1,290 households in the registered poverty-stricken households in Zhonghe Town.

In order to enable the relocated people to move, have income, and become rich, in recent years, Zhonghe Town has relied on the handcraft of Shui people’s intangible cultural heritage "horsetail embroidery" embroidery and adopted the model of "cooperative + skill training + craftsman" to train migrant women in the community. Becoming "embroidered women" has driven them to develop the "fingertip economy" through traditional hand embroidery. Today, more than 500 relocated women have increased their incomes at their homes.
