The young Senegalese student Diary Sow released, Thursday, November 4, a novel inspired by her own "disappearance".
The book is entitled
Je pars
(Robert-Laffont editions).
In January 2021, his sudden and mysterious disappearance had worried his relatives and had generated a media frenzy.
In her book, she tries to transcribe the state of mind that pushed her to "
take action
" by fleeing, like her character, the pressure that rested on her shoulders.

In this 200-page novel,
Diary Sow
invents a literary double for himself: Coura Gaye, a brilliant Senegalese student, like her, who quits just like, a gesture of survival.

What is wrong, already, is that she forgot herself. She has a sort of uneasiness in her life because she doesn't listen to herself enough. It is the opinion of others, the gaze of others that directs it. And when she realizes it, there is this jump, this rebellion which means that she can no longer continue like that,
”explains the author.
Amsterdam is the backdrop to the adventures of Diary Sow's heroine who emancipates herself, changes her skin: “
As if, in fact, when she left, she left her childhood behind her.
She feels old.
She's going to say it in the novel.
This act will lead her to a better knowledge of herself, a better knowledge of her condition as a woman, a better knowledge of her body.

, Diary Sow's second novel, is not a logbook.
