Ma Shitu has held various leadership positions in the party. He has served as a director, consultant, and honorary member of the Chinese Writers Association, chairman and honorary chairman of the Sichuan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, chairman and honorary chairman of the Sichuan Writers Association, vice chairman of the Chinese Poetry Society, and Guo Moruo Research Society of China Vice President and so on.
Ma Shitu, who was awarded the First Lifetime Achievement Award for Oriental Writers and Bashu Literary and Art Award, has written many works. He began publishing literary works in 1935 and joined the Chinese Writers Association in 1961. He is the author of "Zhuang Songs of Qingjiang" and "Ten Stories of Night Tales". "The Story of the Night", "Under the Ground", "Looking for the Red Army", "Ma Shitu's Satirical Novel Collection", etc.
In 2008, Ma Shitu's "Tale of Night Stories", "Story of the Official" was made into the movie "Let the Bullets Fly", which became famous for a while.
It is understood that Ma Shitu’s first Oracle book "Ma Shitu Southwest Associated University Oracle Notes" has been published.
