A young girl was exposed to tragic events in an abandoned house in the village of Kom El Nour, which belongs to the city of Mit Ghamr, Dakahlia Governorate, in northern Egypt.
The house contains two dilapidated rooms, one of them is a small, dark and narrow room, with only a bed, and some empty, shabby utensils that are used for eating, which is the room in which the child was trapped, and between them is a small staircase leading to the roof of the house, and the father closed it with some wood and heavy stones.
The girl, called Shahd, told "Al Arabiya.net" that she wanted nothing but to live as an ordinary child playing with her peers, seeing the light and the street, while it seemed from her accent that her tongue and pronunciation were affected by the lack of speech with others, and the continuation of her imprisonment for 3 years, saying that she did not want Nothing from her father but to leave her alone.
Mervat al-Sayed, the girl's mother, said that her husband, the child's father, after her separation from him, was informing her through his relatives that her daughter was fine, refusing to allow him to see her, demanding the right of her daughter, who was imprisoned and psychologically and physically affected as a result.
Strange sounds, screams and moans emanating from a semi-abandoned house led the villagers to discover the little girl who disappeared 3 years ago.
Inside the house, the parents found a completely weak and emaciated little girl who had disappeared 3 years ago. When the villagers asked about her, her father said that she lives in Cairo with one of his relatives.
The parents discovered the girl was bound with iron chains inside a dark room of this abandoned house, and next to her were tattered food utensils. When asked, the girl said that her father had locked her in this house 3 years ago, under the pretext of his fear for her after his separation from her mother.
The director of Dakahlia Security received a notification from the Mit Ghamr police station's warden of the incident, and a security force moved to the scene of the accident and found the child "Shahd M. S.".
The 12-year-old was tied by her feet, and she was immediately taken to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment, and her father was arrested.
In the investigations, the father said that he separated from his wife 3 years ago, and then decided to hide his daughter so that she would not live with her mother, explaining that he did so out of concern for his daughter and a desire to keep her next to him, denying her torture, and the Public Prosecution office that investigated the incident was notified.
