China News Service, Macau, October 30 (Reporter Long Tuyou) The Macau SAR government held a press conference on the 30th to announce that it will conduct a public consultation on the "Trade Union Law" from October 31 to December 14. The consultation will last for 45 days. During the period, 4 consultation meetings will be held to listen to the opinions of the public.

  Huang Zhixiong, Director of the Bureau of Labor Affairs of Macao, said that the SAR government has been committed to promoting harmony between labor and capital, and has gradually improved and optimized labor laws and regulations in response to the economic and social development of Macao.

Considering the long-term development of society as a whole, at this stage, the legal status of trade unions is established in a gradual manner through special laws, regulating the composition and operation of trade unions, and the rights and obligations enjoyed by trade unions, thereby further safeguarding and protecting the rights and interests of employees.

  To this end, the Macao SAR government conducts public consultation on the legislation of the "Trade Union Law", hoping to collect opinions and suggestions from all walks of life, so that the "Trade Union Law" can be more in line with the actual social conditions of the Macao SAR and the needs of future development.

  Huang Zhixiong stated that the consultation text of the "Trade Union Law" has been uploaded to the special webpage of the Bureau of Labor Affairs.

During the consultation period, the government will hold 4 public consultation meetings.
