Before the election day of the House of Representatives election on the 31st, in Shibuya, Tokyo, university students and others walked around the city with a sign saying "During the early voting period!" And called on young people to vote.

This initiative, which was named "Polling Place is Over There Project," was carried out by volunteers from all over the country during the election period in an attempt to encourage voting by the power of citizens. I participated.

Participants in masks put up colorful signboards with messages calling for voting, such as "During the early voting period!" And "You can vote empty-handed." I walked.

When I asked a young man walking in the city to take a picture, he handed me a leaflet about the election system and a sticker saying "I'm going to vote."

Karin Maruyama (20), a second-year university student who participated in the event, said, "I think it is important for young people who are responsible for society to express their intentions by voting. I want you to use this as an opportunity to talk about it. Tomorrow is Halloween, but I want you to vote before disguising yourself. "

This initiative will continue on the 31st in Shibuya and Harajuku.
