Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, President of the International Publishers Association, met in the Spanish capital, Madrid, representatives of publishing houses and members of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Publishers Syndicates, and called on governments and international organizations to provide an incubating environment for publishers, ensuring the prosperity of the publishing sector, and enhancing the efforts of the International Publishers Association in uniting the efforts of Publishing sector at the global level.

The President of the International Publishers Association reviewed the efforts made to present the vision of the publishing system, through new projects, that were implemented after the issuance of a report prepared by the Federation entitled “From Response to Recovery: The Impact of the (Covid-19) Pandemic on the Global Publishing Industry.”

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi explained that “the global plan to enhance the sustainability and flexibility of the publishing industry (InSPIRe), which was recently launched by the Federation, as part of its new work plan, will help promote the growth of the publishing sector and open opportunities for cooperation between publishers and workers in the publishing sector who specialize in printing and distribution, libraries, writers and illustrators,” stressing the importance of ensuring the sustainability of the publishing industry in the future.
